Next adventure - road trip (movie) to Scandinavia (Tewi's blog). We have found some funny toys, treats, nyammy food, travel water bowls... in friendly Mr. Pet. We also had to take care about dogs health - we gave them medicine against flea and tick infestation Ataxxa, and FYPRYST combo (for Lia) which worked perfectly. As well we used Dehinel tablets against parasites.
We also took a health travel insurance with renoved company CORIS, which served us well in the past.
After 10 hours in a full packed car we arrived to the German winter sport paradise Oberhof and charming village Gehlberg. Lots of possibilities for hiking all year round - our favorite was 2 hours walk to Schneekopf. We've found perfect dog friendly accommodation in the former glassfactory converted into lovely appartments: 
PENSION ZUM GLASMACHER The owners are super friendly, and walking paths are starting next to the big house. There is also a caffe next door, interesting local museum, some shops in the village...
A couple of hours driving and we arrived to the Baltic sea. Greifswald with medieval city center and attractive river banks was a nice surprise. As was the Youth hostel where we stayed.
We had a spacious room and great breakfast which is a kind of standard for German youth hostels. Of course there are no age limits and lot of them are dog friendly.
Next destination: island Rugen. It is connected with an attractive bridge and worth a visit! There are no bigger towns, lots of forrests, wheat fields and sandy beaches. One of the most attractive coastal towns is Sellin. With a dozen of old vilas and picturesque pier. There is an inviting restaurant on it and long send beach with tipical german beach chairs. They can be rented for a small fee. Youth hostel is located just a short walk away, near the old railway station where steam trains still stops. The stay was perfect even for our dogs.
Ferry trip from Sasnitz to Danish island Bornholm was quite spectacular. Due to the views of Rugens white chalk clifs, which are shaping northern part of the island. Ferry is very dog friendly, with indoor sits reserved for dog owners. But for the views it is better to spend some time on a deck.
Bornholm was a warming surprise - the nature is not much different than on Rugen, but people are very friendly. Lots of young artists have moved to the island and live in an old farm houses. We stayed with puppetier Ida who invited us to some friends parties and showed us spectacular northern part of Bornholm - small ports, sandy and rocky beaches, castle ruins, deep lake in abandoned query, inviting food and restaurants...
Local food is very tempting- from ice cream, sea buckthorn jams, smoked fish and even wine from perhaps only Denmark vineyard. Not to mention restaurant Kadeau with a Michelin star...
Another short ferry ride and we could have a walk along charming old streets of Swedens port Ystad. The sea was not too invating so we stoped at one of the many lakes some 2 hours drive in the direction of Jonkoping.
We stayed in a lovely camping Luhrsjöbadens at the shore of inviting lake Lursjön. The water was clean and warm for a great swim - part of the beach is dog friendly. Small but comfortable cabins are great option against stay in a tent! With 2 beds, small kitchen, eating corner - you get all you need and clean bathrooms are not far away. The showers and toilets were super clean.
Camping is an excellent option for exploring Sweden! Luckily we found next one in a little town Gränna. Charming town is full of fairytale wooden houses. The main attraction is production of special sweets - polkagris. Traditional ones are red and white hard candys which are produced for more than a century in a traditional way. In most of the shops they also make sweets so it could be an attractive visit any time.
Gränna Camping is located just a short walk away, at the lake shore and small port. It is quite big but well organized. The reception with small shop is efficient and fast. We liked common area with full equiped kitchen and TV room. Tha last was handy as there were games at the football championship going on... The showers with hot water were available with no extra cost.
Orsa is perhaps not well known small town but lies next to a big and attractive lake. There is also a camping with a nice beach.
Town has got some nice old buildings, restaurants, shops. And it is famous for a wednesday music event Orsa Yran, which is held for 5 weeks during the summer months.
The musitians volunteers geather togeather in the afternoon playing music along the streets and on the incoming train. Nice local party with music at every corner. Everyone can join so you can see and listen to attractive performaces of amateur and proffesional musicians.
There are more lakes and rivers in the vicinity which offer lots of opportunities for a swim. Small roads for ciclyng (40 km around the lake). And lots of forrests for trekking or berries, mushroom picking... There is even a chance to see bears and other predators. But only in the kind of zoo - Orsa Rovdjurspark, which is located in Gronklitt - a year round open ski and outdoor center.
Closest bigger town is Mora, where some of us explored inviting museums (Anders Zorn) and a pretty pedestrian shopping street with great discounts in July. Mora is famous as the start and finish of Vasaloppet - annual long distance cross country ski race.
Falun is the closest bigger town in area. Attractivly located by the lake, where we also found handy youth hostel Falu STF.
It lies some 3 km from the town center but with a car or public transport that is not a problem. And you have good oportunity to swim in the nearby lake with some nice sandy beaches. In Sweden hostels you can bring your own beddings (comes a bit cheaper). Breakfast is charged extra, but there was a big and well equiped kitchen with eating room. Rooms are spacious, with a sink inside. The bathroom is outside. We liked big garden with tables and chairs where we had some drinks and meals.
The biggest attraction in town is the Falun mine. - Unesco world heritage site. Well worth a visit, especialy the underground world with an attractive tour!
It is also nice just to walk around the old buildings and visit the mine museum with some interactive displays.
Half way to Stockolm we met Tewi's grandmother - Lass! The owner is Alex Fyher moved to a big farm where she plans to have a kennel and lots of sheep for trainig herding dogs. Alex is a perfect teacher as she spent some years working with herding dogs in Scotland and Norway. Tewi tried to herd some sheep- we had fun and even spent the night at the farm.

Southern part of Sweden (Skane) was a nice surprise. We explored some of the most attractive parts of Baltic sea coast. Kivik is a picturesque little port with a small sandy beach and some nice old houses. Plus a restaurant, souvenir shop, ice cream...
But best part was the coast near village Havang: long sandy beach, with attractive cliff at some parts with great views. There is also an prehistoric stone temple or grave which can be explored. And best of all, an excellent option of accommodation in vicinity: STF Havang Hostel.
One of the loveliest hostels one can imagine: the old farm house looks like from a fairy tale! Half timbered, with a thatched roof, inviting garden. There is also a caffee if you need just a drink or some snacks (ice cream, cinnemon buns). But it is worth to stay some days in one of spacious rooms. There is also a well equiped kitchen and cosy communal room for guests. Walks in the area are easy and plenty. There is even one of the few Swedish vineyards around!
Wolfsburg – German town was in the middle of our way back. There is no historical center (just an attractive castle), but the town is a must stop for car lovers, shopping enthusiasts and summer sports fans. Autostadt is inovative combination of car museum, exibition hall, amusement park, entertainment center and city beach.
With tall factory chimneys of VW factory as a background, the fancy modern complex has something to offer for everyone all day long.
And just across the river which can be crossed over pedestrian bridge, large outlet shopping mall invites. There is a handy tourist info center and long pedestrian street with restaurants and more shops is not far away as well. Part of it around Town hall is transformed to farmers market on Sundays.
There is an inviting lake Allersee not far from the city center. With a big sandy beach, different events and CAMPING with inovative and attractive huts in a shape of a barrel.
And just across the river which can be crossed over pedestrian bridge, large outlet shopping mall invites. There is a handy tourist info center and long pedestrian street with restaurants and more shops is not far away as well. Part of it around Town hall is transformed to farmers market on Sundays.

With 2 dogs we had to think about their food and especially water all of the time. We brought their favorite food brand 4Pet and we used handy portable bowls for water. Foldable one for quick stops along the road. And practical bottle with kind of leaf, from which dog can drink in any situation. We were never bored, but some toys are a must while traveling with dogs for a long time! We had most fun with a help of the ball thrower and octopus Nobby made of balls and strings.And Tewi can't forget funny duck in a shape of ball, which can float on the water...
